Hi everyone!
I'm Amy! I've decided once again to try to set up a teaching blog that I plan on actually keeping updated. When I first started blogging with my students (several years ago), blogging wasn't quite the rave yet. Now everywhere I look there are super,adorable teaching blogs, with some amazing teaching ideas. While, I by no means am as talented as those teachers, I decided I'd give blogging about my teaching/class etc. once again.
I have been teaching for 7 years, 6 of which have been with 3rd grade. I absolutely love 3rd grade (although there are times when I think I can't handle the standardized testing pressure another day longer), this is still my absolute favorite grade. I recently became National Board Certified, and that is an accomplishment I am so proud of. It was quite a tough process, but I'd challenge any teacher to go through it. You will be amazed at what you learn about your own teaching through it. Feel free to ask me any questions if you are thinking of going through the process. I feel like I've let the "politics" of teaching really bring me down this past school year, and I hope by blogging I'll be motivated to ignore all the mess and focus on my passion for teaching! I look forward to sharing my love of 3rd grade with all of you!!
